So little Isaac's slide is supossed to be on the other side of the tree
the branch
We had our first storm a few weeks ago. We were just standing outside talking with our new neighbor when my husband says "that cloud looks like a finger". I was soooo excited. I grabbed the little guy and went and sat in my Hubbies truck bed to watch the storm(stupid I know!). Meanwhile Isaac was looking at our backyard. It was windy, rainy, with lots of thunder and lightening and I was loving it! Then there was a large BOOM and CRACK, Isaac comes running to the truck and says, "We better go in I just saw lightening hit our tree!". So, we continued to watch the storm from our windows. Like I said earlier I was loving the storm. Then the electricity went out around 6pm. And the storm stopped soon after. So, now for the not so cool parts. I hate the dark and we did not get our electricity back until 10:30am! That was not cool! But it was cool to have TV again right!? Wrong! We didn't get a signal! And of course I had to go to the Commissary to replace some of the things that went bad in the fridge. When I got back it felt like a sauna in our house! But b.c. of the storm they could not come and fix the air until later. Like 5pm later! So, what does a sleep deprived, sweaty, now grouchy housewife do!? First, I called Mathis Brothers b.c. we got a new kitchen table and the varnish started coming off. Isaac had taken it in to get fixed and they called us back and said they couldn't fix it. At first I was going to ignore it but I needed someone to take my anger out on, so I called and asked what the problem was. The man says, "scratches are not covered under warranty, only dents and cracks" I explain to him that it's not a scratch I am complaining about but if he would like I could take an ax to that spot to get a good crack in it! Guess what? Our table got fixed! Then I called Direct TV. and chewed them out (our receiver had been giving us problems wayyy before the storm). So, we got a week of free TV:)
Through this experience I've learned that I still love storms! I hate not having electricity! And I can get really mean when I don't have airconditioning ha ha
Good story! You turned an annoying set of circumstances into some very positive ones!
